Steve's Tree |
I can live without a winter, but please don't take my spring! Seriously, what is up with this weather?! I hate being hot, and it has been in the mid 80's for the last week. Hmph! This crazy weather is also putting a damper on a project I've been working on.
If I could keep a camera for longer than a year, this project would've been finished a long time ago. When my step-dad, Steve, passed away back in 2000, a group of friends got together to plant a tree in his memory. It has turned out to be a beautiful pear tree that I look forward to when I pull in the driveway every day. My goal is to get a picture of it every season in a calendar year. I've been trying to do this for at least 5 years. I'm determined to get them all this year!
Since I know the suspense is killing you, I will go ahead and share my great news! Just like most other females between the ages of 18 and 40, I am addicted to Pinterest. I can't remember the first thing I actually started and finished, but the fact that I even finished was pretty impressive! I have a history of having fantastic ideas, buying all of my supplies, getting to work, and that's where it stops. I never ever finish. So when I set out to make everyone's Christmas presents, I was quite skeptical. I did it though!
My mom, being the great mom that she is, was wearing one of her presents while shopping in Oxford a few weeks ago. A local boutique owner took notice and asked her where she got it. She said her daughter made it. She gave her a business card, I sent an email, we had a meeting, then BAM. You can now purchase my fabric pendants at Collected Works in Oxford, OH! The sisters who run it are so sweet and are just as excited as I am! Please go visit them. I just bought the prettiest mustard yellow scarf and gorgeous french locket there. They literally have everything.

I'm also excited about meeting Hank Nickel tonight. I'm passing along two of my favorite books to him and giving his wonderful mommy some of these:

The only thing that will make today better is if I can talk the husband in to going out to eat tonight:)
